  1. Biscuit Joiner

I subscribe to Adam Savage's rule for tools you don't know how often you'll use, as paraphrased: "buy the cheapest to get the job done - use it till it breaks or skills surpass the cheap tool, then replace it with the most expensive version you're willing to pay for the long term" I bought a...
  2. Need a Slither DSR PCB good Quality Pic

I took a ton of pictures back then, 279 images/videos in my archive folder, so if the ones from that thread aren't enough, just let me know what you need a closeup of and if I don't have what you need my boards are easy to get to.

  4. FS Parts: Slither - Ribbon Cables - $30 shipped for set (CONUS) - Other Games?

Ah, you are right on those points. Slither is stacked in a cage and others mounted on a big metal plate. I'm in for a Slither specfic set, I think I ordered an extra of the Qix last time you were selling these, as that's what I bench tested my Slither boards with.
  5. FS Parts: Slither - Ribbon Cables - $30 shipped for set (CONUS) - Other Games?

I thought they were the same cables? Cause a set you built for me is what I used to verify my Slither boards on the bench a couple years ago? (already have a spare set or I'd get another..)
  6. Is This Old Game still around ?

Another positive "In-Stock" experience here. My last purchase was placed 7/8, received it 7/18. In stock CPO and side art. Never checked the site for status of my order in the interim. Sorry for those experiencing otherwise.
  7. Hi from Nebraska

Welcome! If you or hubby balks at the idea of learning what is broken or need adjustment, then it'll be better to sell as-is, but if you look at it like a fun challenge of learning how to repair and maintain these 40 year old games, then dig in and start researching. This forum is one of the...

This was from a Galaga cocktail, picture from 2021 at Big Johns Billiards in Omaha, sadly they've since swapped it out for a different cocktail with LCD and 60 n 1.

These are the kind of repair logs I love to read. Great work!
  11. ANOTHER CGA to VGA BOARD QUESTION

She's a little bit of a snob, and you think she'll be ok with an LCD for the monitor? Why not fix or replace the original CRT? But if you're convinced to push ahead on this...from the Galaga manual, https://www.arcade-museum.com/manuals-videogames/G/Galaga.pdf : The signals on the 6 pin...
  12. Missing a middle strip of picture from this K4900...any ideas??

So before the cap kit, the black band wasn't all dark, just faint compared to the rest of the screen? Does it move around when making any adjustments to size/brightness/contrast or is it always in the same place? Arkanoid uses a vertical mounted monitor, but your problem is along the horizontal...
  13. TPG issue

TPG is great for getting a basic working picture on your monitor, just not for final color adjustments as those will depend on the specific game board used. Reason is the video signals are usually stronger coming out of TPG than those from game boards, makes troubleshooting monitors easier...
  14. Who can make me a custom marquee and CPO?

GameOnGrafix is who I've used for custom art in the past, been very happy with the results! https://gameongrafix.com/product-category/your-design/
