I'll be needing one. I forgot I had the marquee screws out and went to move the cabinet -- crash to the ground. Didn't bust the glass, but it completely cracked all the way across the fold at the bottom. Chalk it up to "live and learn".
I put a new 110v fan in my Star Wars from my local Radio Shack. Should not cost you more than 15 bucks or so if I remember correctly. They have one exactly the same size and it drops into the housing of the old fan and it is quieter than ever.
Re: Need Source for 1 leaf button and 4 leg levelers.
Another place for leg levelers is McMaster.com. Their part number is 2515T17 and are 5.49 for a set of 4. These have a 3/8-16 thread and fit into the threaded inserts already in some cabinets. Otherwise just use nuts and washers. They...
Re: WG6100 Monitor Questions
Well, I still seem to be working on this issue, but have fixed the blurryness problem. That was related to the HV. One of the wires in the connector to the HV cage plug was backing out and thus was probably not getting the HV it required. Now the blur is gone...
I bought this monitor a month ago from a respectable individual for my SW machine. The monitor last year was outfitted with new caps, transistors and the LV2000 kit to take care of the low voltage issues. I installed it a few weeks ago and everything was working fine. I haven't touched it...
Well I have to say it was not the brightness. Tracked it down to a bad/no connection to the neckboard from the main wire harness. Got it all connected and it plays great. Star Wars lives!!!
Many thanks to RitchieB for the explanation. Thanks for taking the time to explain the difference in...
I have 2 sets of working boards and both have this same condition. So I am assuming it is a monitor issue. I'll start there and hope it solves the issue.
I finally got around to working on my Star Wars machine that I got from a friend which needed a lot of work. Acquired all the missing parts (mainly the flight controller) and now am down to the monitor. Bought a refurbished WG6100 and put it in over the weekend. The game now plays, but I have...
I know how you feel. Been working on my Q*Bert project for several weeks and I'm still not done. Seems like I took a step back. Tracked my problems down to the power board. Fixed that and --"Hello I'm turned on" sounded pretty nice.
Then I started a game and found out the down right didn't...
I have isolated the problem to the power supply board. The brick is giving off the right voltages under a load, but they drop off after the board. Even if I get a switcher, I gather from your post I still need that darn brick for the other voltages. I was trying to get away from that thing...
Has anyone converted a Qbert to use a switching power supply? I'm new to the arcade restoration, but only after a few weeks I'm hooked! It seems the Qbert needs some voltages that are not really standard to power supplies. For example, the +20VDC & +30VDC.
If it can be done, what power...
Can anyone help with a Qbert power issue I am having? First of all I came across a Qbert machine that was not working for next to nothing. I have a good logic board and sound board -- tested and working fine in another cabinet.
The problem is that the 5V DC LED on the power supply board does...
