  1. New-Again from Lakewood, Colorado

I'll have to look into the Darksoft stuff. Coming back after so many years I feel like there is so much to catch up with. :-) The last time I was around was when the JROK Berzerk/Frenzy just came out, so I have one of those sitting around (plus a JROK Multi-Williams). Overall I would...
  2. New-Again from Lakewood, Colorado

@Charles Kline - feel free to have your friend PM if they really want this particular cab. I don’t mind working out a trade or sale with another collector. I typically dislike going through CL, but this was listed at such a good price I thought I would try. I would much rather work directly...
  3. New-Again from Lakewood, Colorado

That Centipede buy was a bit odd for me...I paid $400 for it (and it was originally listed on CL for $350). I think I ended up snaking it because of poor communication on the sellers part. They texted me Monday morning about meeting, and I said I was on my way. They must not have seen that...
  4. New-Again from Lakewood, Colorado

Hello all! I started getting into the arcade hobby about a decade ago, then various life-events happened, and now I'm back. I currentlyhave a few cabinets in need of refurbishment: Donkey Kong (w/ 60-in-1 and a poor-condition monitor...I got it cheap of CL years ago w/ as Arkanoid...
  5. NEW Finally Got The Garage Painted

That looks great. I like the look of painted conduit - makes it look more arcade-y to me since typically not a lot went into decor in most arcades I went to.
  6. Omega Race

Sweet pickup - I was curious about that listing since so much of the "cheap" stuff on CL in Denver area lately has seemed to be spam. I've only played Omega Race a few times, but it was a blast and has great sound. The feel/weight of the spinner on that game was sublime.
  7. Tell me about leaf buttons availability

I still really love my Rollie Leaf Switches. I did a writeup on them a while back: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=265558
  8. Dave & Buster's - not bad!

We had a D&B team-outing recently, too, and I hadn't been there in years. The only classic they had was the Galaga/Ms Pac-Man combo which I played a couple times. It was a good time playing games on someone else's dollar, but I typically get bored with a lot of the shooters that seem to be...
  9. Looking for feedback on an idea with my arcade machine

Do you mean the Century Theaters in Lakewood that is in Bel Mar? I'll have to go check it out on location. I like the cabinet...it has a "modern classic" feel to it. The light in the topper that goes all the way back is nice. To me most modern cabinets are really over the top in lights and...
  10. Thinking of Building an Upright Arkanoid

Good timing on the thread resurrection...I have an Arkanoid board I pulled out of a conversion that I've been thinking of scratch-building a cab for. I didn't want to dedicate the space of a full-size cab, but I thought a Taito Trimline reproduction would be nice for it.
  11. fugly multicade thread

I bet the grip-tape on the control panel is to help make playing 720 even more realistic.
  12. Times are tough...just received a cold call from Happ Controls!

An alternative that I would be happy with is a 4:3 plasma TV in 19" size. For most intents and purposes a plasma TV works like a bunch of tiny CRT's. The biggest concern would be the dot-pitch being much smaller than classic CRT's, but at least you'd have similar properties with actual phosphors.
  13. Please donate all unwanted arcade cabinets here!

Exactly - DO NOT contact this guy with an offer for a job, because that's not what he's soliciting.
  14. 82 opening next week in LA

That place looks great - I like how they have a very large time-span of pinball machines. I always get sad when places only have 90's and newer pinballs...
