I tried that still no picture but when I unplug hard drive no signal comes up on screen clear as day so I don't think its the monitor could the video card be bad

i have golden 2003 with a red board that all of the sudden the hard drive started ticking and went black so I just replaced the hard drive and a 2.9 boot drive and now I have sound but the picture is very dim and wont adjust it was all working great then just shut down any ideas thanks
