It's important to note that the horizontal hold control is not with the rest of the controls at the bottom left of the monitor (looking at it from the rear). It's in a weird place on the right, above the two controls there. It's in the middle of that board, facing to the left. You've got to...
Hey guys,
So, I have to recap my DK machine. I've considered doing it myself, but I have a hit or miss track record soldering. If there's anybody in the state capable of doing this, I'd be happy to pay just to get it done and get back to playing.
Thanks
Thanks for the confidence boost. I've got it unplugged at the moment. I'll just leave it that way until the cap kit arrives, then I should be good to go.
Hey guys,
So, I posted here a while back about a DK cabinet I picked up. I tested the PSU, and my best guess was that all of my problems were being caused by a truly beat up PCB. I replaced it a couple of days ago, and it fixed every issue I was having.
However! After having it on for a little...
So, now that I know what the pins are, I assume I can just disconnect the board from the PSU and stuff my leads in there.
Thanks a lot for your help. This thing is so monstrous compared to any switching PSU I've seen I had no idea where to start.
Hey guys,
So you'll have to forgive the beginner question. I need to check the voltage on a DK cab, but I can't figure out what's going on here. I've looked around, read a few articles and watched a couple of videos. All of them made perfect sense, but when I got out the old multimeter and took...
I have a TKG3-UP board. The SOU board is just, missing. Completely. It's CLK -> Video -> Mounting Bracket -> CPU -> nothing. Dangling ribbon cables that I assume used to connect to it.
I knew it didn't have sound when I bought it... it was originally in a hospital so you can see how the attract...
Nevermind, I take it back. Played through again, this time when I beat board 2 the whole screen flipped... high score and such at the bottom upside down... with 000s everywhere.
Hey guys,
So I picked up my first cab last week. It's a DK cab that I _believe_ was originally a Popeye cab. Back instruction sheet is for Popeye. Anyway, I spent some time giving it some love, and other than the fact that it's completely missing the sound board, it appears to be in good shape...
