  1. Golden Tee (2005 Fore!)

I think that might be a good theory of what went on here, I can't guarantee the donor board that came with the game is the ~only~ donor. Swapping U61 didn't work. I have it on the list to look at, referencing one of Ed's old posts. I have the ability to read U61, just not excited to tack mag...
  2. Golden Tee (2005 Fore!)

Follow up FWIW, trying different CHD burns of 2004 and 2005, they all do the same thing, stuck at game initialization. May try a 2003 key and CHD, not optimistic. Still wondering if this might be caused from being a tournament board and having what appears to be a non-tournament donor Xilinx...
  3. Golden Tee (2005 Fore!)

Scratch my assumption, you are correct on the card. Unplugging the VGA ends up with no signal. Card is pushing pixels the entire time, regardless if higher GPU functions are being used. Something during init just isn't progressing past the game load from the compact flash. At this point I'm...
  4. Golden Tee (2005 Fore!)

I'm under the assumption the screen output is driven by the board itself (like a POST screen on a motherboard), and switches to the GFX card upon initialization. (If the GFX is pushing pixels the entire time, my assumption is incorrect and you are spot on) Scope shows data progressing into and...
  5. Golden Tee (2005 Fore!)

Going to log progress here just in case this helps anyone else. Does not boot into operator mode. Start button power up blinks D20 10 times. Looking for where those codes are documented right now if anyone has that info.
  6. Golden Tee (2005 Fore!)

Tried wiping the CF and installing 2004 just to get more data points. Game red-screened me, saying it had previously been upgraded to a major revision 5. Looks like the board stores upgrade info, and I think that's what I might be tackling here. Guessing U61, going to poke around more tomorrow.
  7. Golden Tee (2005 Fore!)

Looks like my other video card is bad, don't have a signal out of it when trying to swap. Not sure the game ever tries to do anything after the init screen.
  8. Golden Tee (2005 Fore!)

Hello all, Been ~15 years since I've worked on a GT board, have an odd one that it looks like a few others might have had but have yet find a resolved post in searching. I have a tournament green board. Also have the original HD and a CF drive. CF drive has #40500 on it, original drive has...
  9. WTB: Working 3m25 chassis or suitable replacement.

Title says it all. Will consider any 25" VGA equivalent, as long as it works. Nearer to Chicagoland the better.
  10. WTB: Makvision 3M25 chasis

Looking for a working chasis or suitable alternate for a Phillips A59EEJO4X60 tube. Its been a while since I've repaired these, would rather just swap. Willing to core if anyone wants the old chasis in return. Ticking about once a second, no glow . Thanks.
  11. SF Rush the Rock project underway

It is amazing how much heavier that half of the cabinet is with the tube in. Feels 3 times the weight of the actual tube due to the way the weight is hung.
  12. SF Rush Feedback PCB - Strange issue

No, mine won't calibrate without assistance. The force in the right direction is very strong, the force in the left is almost non-existent. It sends the proper voltage out with the motor not attached, but fails under load.
  13. SOLD - GAME Sega Turbo Parts

Sorry, not trying to steal a sale...automatically assumed that the tape was holding the wheel together on yours ;) //walking away from thread slowly...
  14. When to use a switching power supply? Sega Turbo Upright

It's a switcher, with only one output voltage. Sega did that a lot. 1980's linears were pretty large. Not really practical.
  15. Millipede audio electrical whine - really need help

If your Big Blue is OK, which you've said it is, this could be a ground or cable routing issue. Ensure no power lines are touching or near audio lines. Use a pair of alligator clips to make new grounds between the ARII and the main PCB and see if the problem goes away. Possible this could be...
