That exactly why.. I'm over 75 versions back from what I have, so there is always a curiosity to what's new and what might be better...but not at the cost of playability and performance.
Thanks for all the excellent insight and advice. I'll experiment on a separate PC, grab a ROM manager and...
I have 5 MAME cabinets total. 1 vertical, 2 horizontal and 1 Cafe ( 2 sided).
Everything I have works good in MAME 214, but apparently things have changed with sounds and maybe other aspects that are more accurate but I only run the old classics...no fighting, adult based, or stuff like that...
Sounds good. I'd rather that. It's already set up for your board. Not sure if you can see the connectors in any pics. I'll start on it next week and let you know how it goes.
I have a dirty, but very serviceable Hantarex model number 02-90086 for sale.
It came out of a working, thoroughly beat up Galaxian cabinet I restored and MAME'd. I was going to use it, but decided to just stick with an LCD screen for safety with grandkids.
I don't know or care what it's...
Been working my tail off on it the past week. I'm very happy with the progress...
Coin door is done now, painted semi-gloss black with gloss play splatter for effect. All new $.25 lenses and new 161 bulb sockets which it was missing.
The monitor mount is complete. Will be a Dell 20" 4:3...
Hi. Thanks.
So I'm tossing up using GameEx under a windows 7 64bit build, vs doing Batocera... with Batocera, I don't like using MAME2003 or the older variants. I run my other MAME cabinets on version 140 through custom GameEx themes. I know Batocera is nearly bullet-proof, but for Arcade...
$175 obo.
The board came out of a beat up working Galaxian cabinet. All sprite, sounds and colors present. No artifacting, glitching or overheating issues as far as I can tell. I left it running for a out an hour at one point to test. All good.
Will be shipped in a box 17x11x14, 5 lbs...
A big shout out and thanks to TheArcadeBoneyard.com. I purchased a Midway cabinet back panel that he hand makes. It's perfect. An exact duplicate of the original unit...right down to pre drilled and countersunk screw holes. I'm very happy with the fit. I picked it up in person while I was...
Stripping was arduous...but I found that Easy Off oven cleaner works great! That when I found that these were not the original sides to this cabinet, no white Formica. I also discovered from the layers of paint that it had been converted to a Ms. Pac-Man and some other game before returning...
Being a huge fan of Stranger Things and knowing this cabinet and game didn't exist, other than a fun tribute to someone that worked on the show, I decided it would make a really cool wedding gift for my daughter and son-in-law who love my arcade machines, both the real and MAME cabinets I own...
This is from the back of what was a Galaxian cabinet, then converted to Ms. Pac-Man. The same sticker appears on the back of my Gorf cabinet, but different font. The letters are blue on this one, on the Gorf, they're black.
My guess is they were for US and Canada models.
