You can try polishing them also.. a light sanding with 1000 grit sandpaper and polish them.. they sell plastic polish at Pepboys.. I use it on the headlights on my truck.. lightly sand then polish and they come out like new... It may work on your sticks try a small area on one stick for testing...

you don't lose them, they were never used in this game. if you trace them they are both in only one side of the plugs near the control panel.

the purple runs to the left side plug near the coin door, and the white with brown stripe runs to the CP plug..
