The only problem with this software is the 31khz displayed by the computer while booting up has been known to damage some monitors.

The deflection coils would burn immediately. Be careful if connecting a degaussing coil directly to the mains, I recommend insulating it very well and feeling how hot it is every few seconds. Failure to do this will result in a fire.
