Re: Do Pole Position Cockpits seperate in two pieces?
No, they can't. I've got one and thought about it but you would have to tear it ALL apart. I'm guessing that's why they are just wide enough to fit thru a doorway. Even with no monitor they are heavy as hell. Good luck and don't kill your back.
Re: Vertical (or is it horizontal) scrolling on DK jr
I've had the same issue. So I did a cap kit and found some bad solder points. Fixed the problem. It was a 20EZV.
I would say that is a very fair price seeing that in the local newspaper they are ranging from $850 to $2500 WITHOUT games. WOW. I'll stick with my PS2. Think about it, in about 7 or 8 months you'll be able to get the X-Box 360 for about $250 or so.
I saw quite a few at the auction on the 10th here in Dallas. Seem like they all went in the range of $700 to $1000. I typically loose interest in games that go over the $500 bid. Call me cheap I guess.
It could be a few things. First thing is to check all the adjustments, of course you have already done that I'm sure. The next thing I would do is a full cap kit, it's easy and hardly costs anything. It usually solves all sort of problems and definitely makes the picture look better sometimes.
There was only 2 poles out at the auction and I got outbided to quick to raise my hand. Sorry about that. Both of them were in decent shape. One didn't have the PCB and the other did. Neither of them actually was working. Good luck.
Why don't you make a box for it instead of legs. Sounds like it might look kind of goofy being that high on legs and a box would be more sturdy. It would be kind of like the small 13" Monitor Neo-Geo's, they are put on boxes.
Re: Pole Position Monitor Problems..Ear Piercing Sound
Did you ever figure out this problem or not ??? Auction is tomorrow . Maybe I'll find something good.
Check the grounds on the switcher and the monitor. Also, have you installed a AC line filter in your power supply ??? Those actually take out line noise. Also make sure your ground is good on your plug. Hope this helps.

How did you take pictures?
Are you sure you can't take pictures in Dallas ??? I thought I saw someone taking pictures last auction. Are you going Saturday ???
I would check to see if all your ROMS are seated. Also check if the solder points to the volume pot are good, it could be just real dusty. You might also have a grounding issue, check taht EVERYTHING is grounded. What game are we talking about and that might help everyone ???
To me, it sounds like a board issue but, I really couldn't be a 100% on that due to the lack of intelligence about shooter games. I'm pretty for sure that the gun does need its lens probably for focusing the frequency to the gun, kind of like shooting a shotgun compared to a .45. You might be...
