thanks, robotron
thanks, robotron; good idea. i couldn't duplicate the problem with another trakball. noticed some significant schmutz between the tines of the wheel and cleaned it out. now the trakball is working right again. maybe that was the problem, maybe it'll come sneaking back.
Wondering if anyone has seen this problem on a trakball game: when I roll one particular ball really fast backwards, it goes forward instead. If I roll it very slowly, it goes in the correct direction. Changed the sensor card but got the same problem. Any advice and ideas much appreciated!
How about for 4.5" balls?
Anyone know whereabouts of replacement optic boards for the maxi size balls? (4.5") Bob's replacement fits the smaller sizes.
Atari Soccer
not unheard of, but pretty rare and maybe my new favorite. great gameplay; my buddy and i play it two-handed so we can have all four 'live' players going at once. we modified the buttons to make it easier. those are the plexiglass slap switches at the corners of the monitor, much...
Picture was getting jiggy during play recently, and has now gone to this (photo). When I started it up today, it had the field graphics and time displayed correctly, but these not-flickering bars were side to side. When I added time for play, the crowd reacted, but no players showed up. TEST...
the picture on my atari x/o football "shimmies" every few moments but game keeps playing. this is not the rolling bar syndrome i fixed with a new big blue capacitor.
i have not capped the monitor. smells a little like something electrical melted in there too. help is appreciated!
have not capped the monitor; don't know what the filter cap is. the picture actually looks great as ever. the current problem is a quick shimmy that makes you kinda dizzy to look at. i had the rolling-bar problem before and replaced the power brick capacitor with a bob roberts big blue and it's...
atari football screen "shimmies"-WG monitor
my atari football x/o game continues to play, but the screen shimmies momentarily like there's an earthquake or something. help!
rolling gray bars--Big Blue replacement didn't help
replaced the big blue capacitor on my atari 4-player football, but the rolling gray bars and 'flickers' that occur when balls are rolled hard haven't gone away. any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
i've heard the same cabinet is used for both of these games. i have the football. does anyone know, assuming i could get my hands on a soccer pcb, if it would be as simple as switching the input harnesses to the new board to play? and if not, what would it entail? thanks in advance for your...
Game started getting glitchy: adding time in strange increments, a rollerball turning unresponsive without an apparent mechanical problem. We accidentally discovered that putting one of the coin slot's ground wires to the frame made the game work again—for awhile. Not smart, but we had games to...
