    I found a manual for the SMV-300 and it defines the inputs on the DB9. The pinout is very different than what's on pinouts.ru. I have a DB9 -> SVideo cable that came with the monitor, but it didn't work on the computer we tested on before I bought it. I suspect he didn't have things hooked up...
