I want to double check something here. My chassis says it's a MTG-2901 and it also says it's an MTG-1901. The replacement flyback has a different label on it and the HOT numbers are different as well.
Hello, I've never worked on this type of monitor before, but I was going into HV Shutdown so I started by doing a cap kit and while I was doing that I noticed D404 looked pretty rough. When I looked up that diode and chassis number, I saw several people on here that say it can cause HV...
I took the board out and cleaned the edge really well. That did not seem to make any difference.
i then took the board back out and I found some questionable solder on the battery and U31. Also U31 was pretty dirty. I reflowed all of that and took U31 out and cleaned on it for about 15...
Thanks for the tip. I'll check that out tomorrow. Do you think that would still be the case if I am measuring past the Jamma connector? I am testing the voltages on the chips themselves. I guess it could be dirty on the ground portion of the edge?
I am not great at rebuilding chassis, but I...
Firstly, I have replaced the battery and the power supply. Power supply has been tested at all increments from 4.9vdc to 5.4vdc.
This is one of 2 linked. It has always given me issues every 6 months or so but turning up the power supply has usually fixed it, but I have maxed out this new...
Title says it. I selected my friend for a club Secret Santa giveaway and I know he is needing one to unconvert his cabinet. Any help would be appreciated.
I went home during lunch and adjusted the Pot that Ken suggested. It created a different issue if I moved it in either direction.
So not that pot.
EDIT: To be more clear, the image went diagonal problems instead of being just stacked on top of each other.
My k4700 image is being torn apart. This was just repaired by a friend and is messing up now with me. I've used a Pac board and my Test Pattern Generator with the same results. Image is stable like this.
I am also posting a photo of what it should look like.
Yes, look at what ForceFlow said. When I fired mine up for the first time, mine was stuck as well. I got lucky because when I tapped it twice, it started spinning.
I'm about to start working on a pair of PM1745 monitors. There is very little info on them so any past stories or repairs are appreciated.
One goes into HV shutdown and smells hot. I'll post photos of the areas that need work. It almost looks like battery corrosion. The resistor I'm pointing...
20ez was working but had a serious curl on the side. I did a cap kit and I started going into HV Shutdown. I've since replaced the flyback, I did a b+ rebuild, replaced q901 but I am still in HV shut down. It's pushing about 208v right now.
