I know you're right, but I'm just not sure that it's worth the wear and tear on the sockets, PCBs and original proms. I can play original SW now, and that's as good as I was before the upgrade anyway, so I guess I'm not in that much of a rush. Let's see what Mark says. - Dave

I thought that too, but at the end of the day figuring out which one is bad doesn't really help matters because I can't do anything to fix it. I think the best thing to do is send all 4 back to Mark and have him replace them, but I'll see what he says. Maybe there's something else I can do. -...

30 years? That's better than most other things that were built 30 years ago! I wonder how many current parts are going to be around 30 years from now. :-) No, unfortunately I don't have a prom reader. Anything else I can do? - Dave

Excellent advice so far! Swapping the SW bipolars back in fixed the problem, but... now what? I checked the replacements before I took them out and they all looked good and were properly seated, so I don't think that was the problem. Not sure where to go from here. - Dave

I've thought about it, but was hoping someone could direct me to the 1 or 2 that are likely causing the problem. I'm worried that if I re-seat all of them I may end up doing more harm than good. - Dave

I recently installed mspaeth's SW/ESB conversion on a well-working SW game, but am having some problems. In general, both games work, I can switch between them and all of the self-tests pass for each game, however... in SW I'm getting some weird graphics like the laser turrets on the Death Star...
