Wanted: Rectifier board for old Stern machine

I guess I'll use this board to practice soldering on and then buy Ed's board after I mess it up. I don't know if anyone noticed the tape on the resistor, I noticed it was hockey tape and decided to remove it. It was taping together a broken resistor. Only in Canada in the US it would be duct...

Wanted: Rectifier board for old Stern machine

Thanks for the recommendations. I started to second guess whether I truely need one after I removed it from the machine. Here are jpegs of both sides. It was the delamination that concerned me. What do you think? I should still have time to add to my parts order if I just need to replace some...

Wanted: Rectifier board for old Stern machine

Great, I sent an email to him. He advertised shipping to US only. Maybe he had troubles shipping to Canada in the past... Any Canadians have one sitting around collecting dust?

Wanted: Rectifier board for old Stern machine

Marco & GPE are out of stock. Anyone know where I could get a hold of a fair priced replacement board. I believe AS-2518-18 and AS-2518-49 are both compatible.

    My PartyZone restoration project

Update: Thanks to the guidence I think I'm well on my way to having everything back in working order. Those restoration guides are so full of good information. I had both the battery corrosion issue causing the game to restore to factory defaults each time it powered on as well as the J115...

    My PartyZone restoration project

I don't quite understand what you mean Lindsey. Are you suggesting that I power up the machine and then short the tab of the resistor (which i believe is the body of what is soldered onto the board?) to ground? If that is the case then how do I check to see if the coil is energized? Would it...

    My PartyZone restoration project

That was helpful, I found that the wires that goes to the Mouth had been severed by the force of the head turning. They are encolsed in a protective cover but that too was severed. The 2nd solonoid connections look good. I checked the resistance at the tabs and it was consistant with the other...

    My PartyZone restoration project

I've read nothing but good things on Novus #2 and have that in my shopping cart at pinballlife along with bulbs, shooter tips, fuses, and shiny new balls! who knew! I also noticed when performing the tests that two of the solonoids don't fire. Part AE-26-1200. What steps would I do prior to...

    My PartyZone restoration project

Thanks for the warm welcome into this forum. My first project will be fine tuning Party Zone. I have it working but a few things are not quite right. I think it's generally in good shape but a bit dirty. Here are some links to pics I just took: The backart...

    Introduction

Thanks so much for the excellent information. I will look no further for suppliers. You have also convinced me to give this a go as a do-it-myself project. What's the worse thing that can happen? My first step will be to take a couple pics and create a post for each machine being restored with...

I'm not sure I should tackle the main power issues in the Stern machine. I was thinking about buying this: http://cgi.ebay.com/STERN-PINBALL-TA-100...231143005r15874 What do you think? I might instead ship mine out to someone that knows what they are doing. I have basic electrical skills, ie)...

Yes to GTA, actually Mississauga, only 10 minutes from the auction and about 20 degrees warmer than Edmonton! Do you have a favorite online place to purchase parts from Lindsey? I'm thinking that I need a bunch of bulbs, Nuvus, and some rubber at the very least. So far I've found this one...

    Introduction

Hi from Canada! I have a couple machines (Trident and PartyZone) that I've decided to try and restore a little. For the most part its just cleaning, bulb replacement, and rubber replacement. Hopefully I won't go too far astray. I know I need a new power supply at the very least for the Stern...

    Party Zone pin

I own one of these and suggest it is a great machine to own with a long play life. One in good shape should still fetch $1200. I initially wanted fireball but am happy that I picked this one up instead.
