He has links to all three of the neotec variants, 2701, 27e and Li Chin.
also this link as well...
So after changing uf values of cap at C24 with no effect I said screw it, and ripped off the bonded yoke on my second donor tube and...
Perfect sized picture at 113VDC B+
I still have to do the purity, convergence and fine tuning so that's gonna suck, but man it felt good when I saw that...
I have been looking at Craig's list for 27" crt's from the 90's, but most of them seem to have the bonded yoke issue. Don't bother with the flat tubes, the couple I got had a longer neck and didn't work or fit in the frame. If you look at the model number the first to digits usually give the...
Thanks for the help so far everyone, But I think I may have been wrong about C423 being the horizontal retrace. After doing some more reading the horizontal retrace should be inline with the HOT and the output to the horizontal yoke coil right?
I looked over the board and C423 goes to pin 7 on...
The horizontal cap is C423 I think, a poly cap right?
Schematic calls for MER 563j 250v... whatever that means.
So I figure out the value of that cap and then go higher or lower to adjust horizontal size?
Thanks,
Jason
That first tube did look pretty good, but the only way I was able to get the picture wide enough was by turning the B+ up to like 130VDC which is way higher then spec (manual calls for 113.5VDC). It was my understanding that I should not run it that high?
Sorry to keep pestering, but I'm getting to my wits end with this damn monitor.
Cap kit is done and I want to swap out the tube to fix dead blue gun in shit Zenith tube...
I found a replacement with a bonded yoke, spliced the yoke plug and hooked it up(The B+ was too high in this pic, I later...
So I replaced the R431 with a 10k 1/4W and hooked up the original tube, no sparks and had picture. So I must have damaged the new tube when I removed the bonded yoke. So the hunt continues for a replacement tube...
1k vs 10k
So according to schematics R431 is either a 1k or 10k 1/4w. The original is so burned I can't read the value.
Should I start with a 10k and see if it works, then if not up it to a 1k?
Ok so here's the story so far...
I capped my chassis on my 27e so I started a tube swap, due to bad blue gun.
I found a donor and hooked it up using the the TVs bonded yoke, image was good, however reversed, upside down and too narrow(not filling the full width of screen).
I replaced the bonded...
Thanks Ken,
Looking at those manuals I either have a 27e or a mislabeled li chin, the board layouts are not like a 2701 and the neck board was labeled 27e.
The schematic calls for a NP 22uf25v cap at c316, my board had nothing there. I figured it was the wrong cap so I didn't install it...
So I am in the middle of installing my first cap kit in my neotec Nt-27e. Monitor was in bad shape before hand horizontal and vertical size were way over scanned and vertical lines were hourglass? Pincushion?
So I pulled a schematic and started going through the cap kit list. I noticed a lot of...
