  1. Not a EM game but need some opinions

It's an erector set for sure. I have one like that and the instruction booklet says 1918 on the cover.
  2. Reproducing BIG plastic pieces?

You might look at information on vacu-forming plastic, as that is what a lot of these parts were made. It's not to difficult, but it can be done. I have made a vacu-former out of scrap lumber and an old vacuum, and some wire I pulled out of several old toasters. It's large enough to do...
  3. Restoration of old United Manufacturing Co Bowling Game - Reel Problems

I just got off the phone with the son, and he said his was a United. He looked up in his father's records that the unit was bought in late 1955, and used 4" balls. The shuffle machine I was remembering stood right next it. I asked him about the 'chintzy' brackets on the ball return lane, and he...
  4. Restoration of old United Manufacturing Co Bowling Game - Reel Problems

Keeney made a machine called "duck pin" late 40's, early 50's, I have seen a machine almost identical to yours, except it used shuffle pucks rather than balls. 2 player, and I would swear the back glass was a dead match. Unfortunately this was about 8 years ago, at an arcade that has long since...
  5. Moving to PA, any arcade issues I should worry about?

2x4s soak up water if they sit it it for any extended period of time. I have mine on 16x8x4 in. concrete blocks. Yes, the cabinets sit 4" higher, but when Sandy came through, and we had 3" of water in the basement and no power for a week, they still were higher and safe!

  9. Tricks for cleaning a PCB?

Something you might try (ymmv). If you have an auto store near you, there are several brake cleaners that will remove rosin flux of a board without destroying the parts, board or the plastic sockets. The best one I've found is Wearever Brake Parts Cleaner from Advance auto Parts. The standard...
  10. IR Shooting gallery identification

I'm trying to restore an 10-20year old IR shooting gallery for a client. Unfortunately, nothing has any makers identification on it. There are no manuals, nothing. The only thing I can find anywhere is the word "AZTEK" etched into the PC board inside the gun, and on the PC boards in the targets...
  11. Hello from SE Pennsylvania

I'm an unemployed Mechanical Design Engineer, who has been around fooling with Pinballs and Mechanical arcade equipment since the mid 70's. I love all of the old school machines, and have been instrumental in bringing back to life many of the early ones, mostly those termed basket cases. If I...
