  • Yea, luckily for us rent in macon is only 1 to 2 dollars a square foot. Our place is 3700 square feet. Gives us room for about 30 games, plus an indoor lawn for bocci, darts and enough table space for folks to play the board games. Macon isn't Atlanta but its a small college town with an strong older demographic. And our 4 player multi cabs do very well. They're not the major titles for sure, (wrestlefest and sunset riders) but they get tons of group play. Our shooters also do very well, better than our older stuff. Between that and pinball we've done well on token purchases.
Yeah we've been looking at the demographics a lot. While Bowling Green is a college town (home of WKU) I think there is definitely room for a bar aimed at that same demo (30ish to 50ish). What kind of square footage do you have there? From the pictures it looks spacious. That's the main issue we're running into, for the type of town that it is buildings and property are fairly expensive. I've been looking at the 3-4k sq ft range and its $6-9k/month for a lease. We want to focus mainly on late 80s and 90s games since I think the 4 player games (TMNT, Simpsons, NBA Jam, etc) would do well in a setting such as what we're thinking. I live about 15 minutes south of Cincinnati but have family in Bowling green. There are two arcade bars here in Cincy but they focus almost purely on 80s games. I'd rather focus on the popular classics and games that will appeal to a wider section of patrons. I also like that you've got board games as well since we're thinking of doing the same.
Hey Bud! Thanks for looking me up. And I'm excited to hear of another person throwing their hat into the ring. I see your at the location phase in your search. I'm sure your getting advice left and right. I personally have not been to bowling green. Be sure to do your market research, study it and find out your age demo, and how to reach your target audience. Mine is a retrocede because I wanted to target a 28 to 55 age demo, which is prevalent and affluent. So I focused on retro-theming and games from the early 80s and mid 90s.
