Thanks a ton for all the info guys. The bob roberts method seems quite smart, however it looks like I can get away with doing a lot less by buying that 56 pin edge connector that Shagster mentioned (which I have done). I'll let you know how it goes when I get it! Thanks guys.
I don't want to do anything to my harness that includes soldering, as my cab is actually a neo geo cab that I swap JAMMA boards into on occasion. So is there any way to fix the issue on the board end so I don't have to jump anything on the harness?
I don't think it's burnt out, the pin itself if missing entirely. You might be able to see in the photo, someone has attempted a ground repair... I'll take a better photo.

I have a SF II board that wont boot. It starts to boot, and gives me this message, and then doesn't progress:
SCR 1 RAM OK
SCR 2 RAM OK
SCR 3 RAM OK
OBJECT RAM OK
WORK RAM OK
Thoughts?
