I was lucky enough to have Dick Millikan to repair a few sets for me. Pink nail polish on all the chips to mark them. I had probably 10 sets at one point. All non-working. Traded a bunch to him for working sets. This was 10+ years ago
Just gonna bump this one. I've had conversations with Adam 10+ years ago, he's a nice guy. Very smart. Liked to repair Nintendo boards too!
I have had a dozen Pole positions through the years, a few were kept waiting for this board and later sold. I still have an empty upright waiting, but...
OK.. edited to remove what has sold and lowered some prices. Make an offer!
Have a lot of boxes of good usable parts, manuals and such.. come look and buy it all!
Got it working again. Bridged the broken pin to another pin (trace on PCB just looped to a another pinon the same chip). Guess maybe a poor connection somewhere. Had it running for 4 hours with no glitches and it plays great once again!
I had reflowed the header pins awhile back, replaced the interconnect cable and cleaned and reseated all of the chips. Recently a friend replaced several scokets and rebuilt the monitor with one of Bob's deluxe kits. I have rebuilt the ARII and power block also.
I have owned this Tempest for...
I have a boardset that I have had a lot of work done on already but still seem to be having issues. On top of that I broke a leg on a chip last night while examining the board.
Needs more sockets installed and looked over.
Anyone?
