I really apologize about being so ignorant about this, but..... This board came with what appears to be a power cable and no directions, so the question is, does this board need to be powered to provide the conversion? and if so.....where does this hook to machine? Thanks.

I assume you don't know the history of the boards but how do they look? Is the power section fried?
