Removing the monitor all together may simplify things. The way it's set up, the access screws for the chassis are very hard to get to.

It's looking like the chassis is beyond my capacity to remove. It seems much more complicated than the examples I've seen. I have an old spare CRT VGA computer monitor that would just about fit. It seems there are converters but is there one that is recommended?

Aprox. 1 1/2" stripe down the center. Can see some gameplay in the stripe. Occurred suddenly when I plugged a vacuum cleaner into the same power strip ( dumb, dumb, dumb) likely a cap? Diode? Vertical IC?
