I still have mine and sometimes bring it to the Northwest Pinball and Arcade Show but not recently. According to the numbers sheets that was recovered 1900 were made, seems like a decent amount for a 70s title. Not one I see to often and on a side note for some reason a lot of the PCBs have...
PCB: Atari Tank
Symptoms:
Burnt power traces, missing 8000uf cap on board II, Missing 14 MHZ crystal
After installing missing components there was no image on screen.
Later I found the white tank not firing black tank makes checkerboard over whole screen when firing., black tank graphics...
I can take look at you tank board if you like I’ve worked on a few over the years as well as the repair I’ve had to do on my boards. The power supply is part of the PCB for the most part with the exception of the multi-tap transformer and there not mush to fix on that. Send my a message if it’s...
What transistors are being used on the board to trigger the lights. I've noticed some delay the light more then others even though they say they are equivalent. I stick with 4401 and 4403s
are you seeing change in the outputs on L5 (74174)? It interacts with the car image and lodading of the motion for the cars. I’d try that first then if it looks okay check the outputs of the 9301s at k8 and p7 to see tif the load signals are there. That’s my guess on what may be wrong.
Yeah it was Hustle we played, happy to hear you liked it. It is a 1 or 2 Player game but It’s more fun with 2. Mine isn’t an original Hustle cabinet it’s a Blockade with a Hustle marquee and board. We still need to play a couple rounds of Tank. I didn’t get to show you guys how it plays after...
It does look like the scrolling could be an issue with the vertical motion. I’d start by checking the counters at J7 k7 and L7. Those 9316/74161 are problematic and it wouldn’t surprise me. You can test the outputs and see if they are pulsing. The service manual also seems to go over further...
I've only came across 1 Rev C PCB while I was working on them They do seem to be pretty rare. I've never seen an A or B rev. I took pictures of it since I hadn't seen one before. It did use S4 for CE. These pics are all I have since I had to return it after I got it working. I'll try and attach...
I thought I should add that the XL had 2 different motherboards Telco and DeAmertek. Telco supports the Titanium image as is but if you have the DeAmertek and previously running older software you will probably need the VRAM upgrade too.
There is a diode that can cause no sound if it is bad and I believe you can test it on the board. It the 1n4004 closet to the 1000mf cap. Well that’s the most common part I seen go bad on the power supply that causes it. are you seeing the 14v give or take at pin 15 on the PS board? How about...
As others mentioned you can play a SI in a SID cab. The SID daughter board is also used for Space Invaders II, The one were you have two bases playing at the same time. SI II has a aux sound board and that third connector is where it plugs in.
