I have a 1996 Midway Hyperdrive sit-down that was converted to 1998 Midway Cruis'n World and the force feedback pulls right.
I replaced the 5K pot - and still pulls right. I am hoping someone has experience testing and repairing the force feedback wheel board...
Wanted to Trade - my 1989 Atari Escape from the planet of the Robot Monsters standup (conversion of 1982 Williams cab). Works - needs player 2 controller replaced - for repair of Kangaroo cab.
I will have to take some pics of the Kangaroo cab - mainly water damage that effected the artwork...
Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters for trade or sale
This is a conversion Atari Escape. It is in an old Williams (probably Joust) cab.
The game plays fine but the Player two controller needs to be replaced so you can only play 1 player games. Monitor is so/so - has a fault...
I did go through the settings to recalibrate. Unfortunately, it is "stuck" pulling left. So when I go through and calibrate, it asks you to push the controller each direction...but I can't "unselect" the left position. so, if you play a 2 player game, player 2 is stuck going left
Cruisin World back to Hyperdrive
What does it take to convert the Cruisin World back to its original game for the cab - Hyperdrive? Is it just a matter of updating ROM (and obviously exterior artwork)?
Or is there quit a bit more to it?
Cruisin World (Hyperdrive) force feedback pulls right
The forcefeedback pulls right - and I suspect (based on a Cruisin Exotica manual - couldn't find Cruisin World) that there is a problem with a system board.
I have recalibrated several times - and it still pulls hard right, continuously...
Gettin a multimeter
Hey guys. I wanted to thank you all for the info. I hope to get my hands on a multimeter in the next few days and try to do the testes prescribed in yellowdog's post above.
I will let you know what it turns up.
Thanks again.
Joust power supply
After pulling out the interlock switch, the monitor now will show fuzzy colors for 5 to 7 seconds, then goes black and repeats like that over and over.
No words on the screen and it does not appear to be "booting up" - just stuck in the cycle described above. I cut it off...
Interlock on the Joust
Yes. I did not pull it out. I feel dumb for not knowing that it was an interlock and is required to be depressed or pulled out....
anyway, After pulling out the interlock switch, the monitor now will show fuzzy colors for 5 to 7 seconds, then goes black and repeats...
Joust power supply
It is still for sale as is ...but if I were able to fix it...I would probably keep it at least for a couple of years so my kids can have some fun with it.
