After many hours of swapping boards with the machine at Nickelmania in UT. I finally found the problem, it was a transistor that controls the left flipper on the lamp/solenoid combo board. This transistor had shorted out and blown the +43 volt fuse under the playfield. Once this was replaced...
I replaced all the connectors and still nothing. Both Vidiot and MPU flash correct number of times, plays the start up tune and then nothing. When the test switch on the Vidiot is pressed once for the comm test. No numbers on either transmit or receive.
Installed a G07 repair kit from www.therealbobroberts.com it is back up and running with a small exception. There is now a slight wave(roll) which looks to be traveling right to left. It is not very noticeable, but gets annoying as you are playing. Could this be a grounding issue. There is...
Tested both fuses and both are good. Can the flyback go out with no visible cracks in it? I don't see any physical damage to the board or any parts on it.
I have a pac board. Doesn't have any roms though. Not sure if it works. It is the same as a ms. pac board which is what I have. As soon as I get my monitor fixed I will try to test the spare board. What problem are you having with yours?
When I purchased the game about two years ago. The seller told me that the game had been stored for at least 8 to 10 years. From the looks of the monitor board, it has not had any sort of repairs done to it. I have not done a cap kit yet because up until today, the monitor had a perfectly...
The monitor in my Ms. Pac man went out. It was working perfectly this morning and now a blank screen. Game coins up and sounds as if it is playing. There is no rastar glow coming from the neck of the tube. I have removed the board and checked solder joints as well as the fuse. Flyback looks...
After having the game on for two days straight, the monitor stopped working. Game still works(can hear game sounds) Any ideas as to what would cause a monitor to go out without warning? Worked perfectly fine yesterday. Thanks.
Where can I get the trifurcon connectors? Do I just need to replace the crimp connections or the edge connectors as well. Also, do they come in different sizes or are they universal? Thanks.
Now that I got my Ms. Pac-Man working, it's back to the old Baby Pac-Man. I have done a continuity test on all of the wires that go from the vidiot to the MPU, all test out ok. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Here is an update...With the board that I had partially working, I swapped the chips at E1 and E2. After I did this the machine had a "ROM 0" on the screen. After determining that the error is referring to the U0 chip on the auxiliary board, i swapped out the auxiliary board. The game is now...
I purchased an unknown board off ebay and between the two boards I was able to get one of them to power up. However, the game is not playable. The board boots up like normal with the opening screen. when it goes into the demo game, Ms. Pac and the ghosts do not follow the maze, a power pellet...
