I've always said GAL-uh-guh, but there is an argument that I heard that seems valid.
Since the original game is ga-LAX-ian, then the proper pronunciation should be ga-LAG-uh.
Most people say GAL-uh-guh though, so I'm sticking with that ;)
I'll second that. The multikit is worth Lunar Rescue alone! The sound when the little guys run to the rescue ship at the bottom....DooDooDooDooDooDooDooDooDooDooDoo
Great thread!
Ok, here is my best one...
My first machine was a DK that I overpaid for. I didn't realize at the time that the entire front panel was replaced with a piece of OSB that was painted blue (not even the same blue), and someone had put a generic coin door in. Once I realized it, I...
That's the exact page I used to test the voltages.
+5 is reading roughly +6.5
-5 is reading roughly -5.5
+12 is reading roughly +13.5
RESET is reading at 0.1
Adjusting the pots does nothing.
My space invaders went down a while back and I finally pulled it out and started testing voltages on it.
All voltages test slightly high and the adj pots don't seem to change anything. What could be the issue?
Picked up a nice Frogger cocktail yesterday, but the monitor is pretty dim on it. Tried adjusting brightness but it is maxed out. I figured a cap kit was in order, but I can't seem to find any discernable label on it. Anyone know what this monitor is?
I would definitely try to find a working machine first if you have no experience with troubleshooting and repairing games. Yes, it will cost you a bit more upfront, but you are paying for no headaches ;). Definitely seek out a game you really like to play and has replay value as well...
My wife bought me an LED backlit high score board! Unfortunatley the remote doesn't work, but you can still control it at the base. So epic! I love it!
Born in '78, so I only vaguely remember playing the classics. My "era" was the fighters and beat em ups, but my collection is all classics. I guess I feel like I missed out on the early games because I was too young at the time to really get good at them. That, and the classics fucking rule ;)
Got mine today (finally). Not the sellers fault though. I just moved and forgot to change shipping address on ebay :-(
These things kick SO MUCH ASS!!! They are double sided prints on cardstock material and are as the seller described.....brand spankin new :D. Looks like the tabs are for...
I'm interested to see them when they arrive. It looks like they have "tabs" on them, so maybe they are a thicker cardstock or something? Looks like they would hang with a "3D" effect maybe...
Not really sure. I didn't notice anything on them signifying arcade or console. I did notice that the artwork for Tempest varies from the arcade cabinet for sure...
