Default INTEREST THREAD: Tempest Cocktail GLASS (repro w/ PhoenixArcade)

UPDATE: See Post #17 - PhoenixArcade may do a glass repro if enough interest here. Estimated cost = $200-$250 + shipping.

KLOV TEMPEST COCKTAIL REPRO GLASS MEMBER LIST:

1 VectorCollector
2 Altan
3 jayleone
4 clay cowgill
5 HFK
<add your name here>

Background Info:

Though Rich at THIS OLD GAME has made mention of this in the past, I see no progress to get this done. So, I'm wondering how many here would be interested in a quality Atari Tempest COCKTAIL UNDERLAY repro? It was also mentioned "again" today on VECTORLIST.

The CP repros have been around for years now ... the only thing we (and I) need for a complete restore is the underlay.

Perhaps with enough interest we can convince Rich (or someone else) to do it?

There was some mention here, but I think there is resistance to use anything from that OP?

For those with lots of $$ to spend, there is a NOS glass right now on EBAY: [ENDED]

Alternatively, if there is a preference for a glass repro (Silkscreened) over a mylar/vinyl type underlay, please post your opinion.

Those are not always easy to line up perfectly and can tear.

Maybe they should be done on glass?

Nah, I think a screened glass repro would be beautiful but too expensive for ALL of us.

Ironically, there is more traction on this in the VECTORLIST than here on KLOV. No Tempest Cocktail owners here? Shame ...

I'll report back here if the VL crew make any progress ...

Tempest isn't a super cheap game to begin with, so I'd think that most collector types would want to pay the extra $ for screened on glass. An underlay or adhesive type thing seems like a mediocre way to go for this game.

Default INTEREST THREAD: Tempest Cocktail Underlay (repro)

Not much discussion here... I may be getting a tempest cocktail so I'm interested in hearing if anything moved forward?

DEAD ... no one seems interested.
(Ha, the discussion also fell flat on VectorList).

TOG did do some TMPST CKTL glass repros in the past. I've asked for just an underlay ... but still, too little interest in this - which is surprising to me.

Just got a tempest cocktail but the glass is in just good enough shape to not need a repro. Could/would Rich do another run?

I was told that another run (of the glass) might be happening if enough people pre-order (no initial $$$ needed).

But this isn't cheap.
