This was what got me started working with arcade boards and electronics in general. Made it a little while ago and it was a great learning experience, and a massive time suck trying to get that enclosure machined and powder-coated. The MVS board came off ebay, so no cab gutting here, and it's still Jamma compatible if I ever get a Neo Geo cabinet, although I will have to reverse the stereo sound mod.
Here's the stats: •MV-1C motherboard with UniBIOS, 5v mod, Stereo Sound mod, and backup battery mod. •Neobitz video converter with RCA and S-video. •Original NeoGeo AES video out for RGB output to a Sony PVM or arcade monitor. •Power and test switch •Power LED •Runs off small 5v PSU The Joysticks are compatible with NeoGeo through the DB15 ports, PS3 and PC through USB using the Toodles Cthulhu board. Sanwa buttons and joysticks. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

So right after I did this crazy mod, someone started selling a little socket based board you stick to the top of one of the larger chips......WHYYYYYYYYY. Felt accomplished for doing it though.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A few additional things. The system is enclosed in a 1455T2201 by Hammond Mfg ( http://www.hammondmfg.com/1455.htm ) The joysticks are 1456PH1WHCWW by Hammond Mfg ( http://www.hammondmfg.com/dwg16.htm ) |

Internals are not my strong point. I'm kind of lousy at wirings in a sane sort of manner.
Sticks Pretty basic stuff, just a lot of extra wires for the DB15 ports. ![]() System Controller taps are on the resistor arrays as to not much up the Jamma edge. ![]() This is about where I stuck the video converter with some foam sticky pads. I didn't just leave it hanging like the pic suggests :-D ![]() I'm pretty proud of these. They are little aluminum standoffs that keep the cart slot reinforced to the bottom of the case, so you can't put any stress on the board inserting carts.

I have one of those enclosures for a joystick but never got around to building it. Yours is beautiful.
Too bad SGRepository went down. This is a perfect example of why I was on there often.
