Next project on the list for Vector Labs is a new deflection board for the WG 6100
vector monitors. I got tired of fixing dirty and burned deflection boards so I decided to make an improved version for my monitors. Scoured the internet for mods, fixes an other improvements others have done in the past and added some of my own improvements and built some proto's. I have logged in many hours of testing and burn-in and am ready to show others on the forum. I have heard that someone else had done something similar and that Arcade Shop sold them for a while but heard that they were unreliable. So anyway as the title says just gauging interest in a limited production run of these. They should run about $175 each. I attached a pic because some on the forums say "pics or it didn't happen" |

I'd most likely be in for one. It would be a back up in case mine craps out. Or should I say when it craps out.

I see the low voltage section upgrade on the board in the picture. Can you please list all the improvements or fixes that this new board has?

Looks cool. Insanely cool would be a mod to allow Sega level voltages, so that when these G08s continue to fail we can upgrade them to 6100s.
I forsee a need for 6100 yokes made on 90 degree formers.. I think they might actually be the same as amplifone yokes. So many 6100 tubes are burnt all to hell, it would be great to swap a 90 degree tube in... Andrew |

Also, love the new combined headers to clean up the wiring to the neck board, etc... Nice heat sink upgrades too. Does this include some form of the IPC circuit? I like how it is upgraded, but is also true to the original layout. Are those LEDs in the middle of the board to show that LV is good to the transformers? Don't see a PTC, was it designed out or just moved near the rear of the board? That always seemed to be the part everyone worried about sourcing if they made a replacement deflection board. Ok, I creamed my pants looking at this picture so long... Very well done! In all of it's full size glory... Last edited by VectorJunkie; 07-28-2011 at 07:31 AM. |
