Why do all my fav TV shows get cancelled?!

Just read somewhere that "Trauma" is not being renewed. It'll get it's 13 episodes but that's it. CRAP! That was NBC's best show since Chuck. Big $ in production, filmed in almost all real locations in SF. Trauma is cancelled and what stays? NCIS LA with LL Cool J. Yuck! LL Cool J??? He has three expressions to choose from for his magnificient acting performances... 1)Mean, 2)Tough, 3)Angry.
The networks just totally suck. ABC cancels Life On Mars, NBC cancels Trauma and we get to live with LL Cool J...
At a certain point, you have to consider that cancelling shows so quickly is a bad business decision. They don't give new shows a chance and then they have to produce a new show to replace it on speculation once again. Shows don't always get the quick audience and take some time to gain momentum. Nothing good seems to get a chance anymore...

Happens to me too..

Invasion got canceled to make way for "Lady President" or some crap like that.

plus most of my shows get rotten timeslots and such.. no renewal for those..

Dude, Invasion was TERRIBLE ...President Geena Davis got canned too if it makes you feel any better.

I make it a point to not watch the big three network television shows. I've not watched anything on the big three since I quit watching Seinfeld about 3 seasons before it ended. That is, aside of casual viewing when my wife chooses something and I'm in the room reading or using the laptop. And even then, its only been reality.

I've never seen a 24, I've never seen a CSI, none of all that.

I do watch tons of the HBO shows, though.

Sorry to hear your faves get cancelled. That's never fun. I'm still trying to get over the cancellation of CHiP's. That's an almost daily ordeal.

I'm really liking Bored to Death and Curb Your Enthusiasm ...I can't believe I just "discovered" Curb this season...it's amazing. Showtime is good too, w/ Dexter, Californication, Nurse Jackie, etc. It's been a while since Six Feet Under ended, but that was an amazing show on HBO.... I've actually been kind of reluctant to attach myself to the network serials since Jericho was canned (then uncanned, and recanned)....Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles got REALLY good and then got canned on an INSANE cliffhanger. That really put me off getting attached to network serials/sci-fi.

Curb Your Enthusiasm - I got into it during the second season. My wife and I are very loyal fans of this show. I highly recommend going back and starting with S1 E1 and going through it all. The funniest show of all time, period.

Dexter - haven't seen since finishing Season 2. Need to catch up.

Loved Six Feet Under. Probably the best drama series of all time.

Like that Mormon show on HBO, forget what it is called. I'm a season behind on that one, too.

Of course, watched the Sopranos.

Probably my overall favorite HBO series, ever, was The Wire. Anyone who likes cop drama and politcial drama who missed The Wire ought to Netflix their way through that series. A very serious drama, very well made, with a twist. Season One we watch how inner city drug problems work through the ghetto gangsters on the street. Season two it is watching it through the eyes of the cops. Season three, through the eyes of the industries affected by the drug trade, such as the dock workers and other public workers. Season four through the eyes of the politician. Season five, through the eyes of the news reporters. Something like that. Really, a very remarkable series with a top notch cast of nobody actors and actresses.

Going back to Curb Your Enthusiasm, old episodes to catch are very numerous, but keep an eye out for "Porno Gil" and "Krazy Eyed Killa". Krazy Eyed was great. After numerous times of Krazy Eyed asking Larry "Are you my nigga?", Larry ultimately says to Krazy Eyed "Are you my caucasian?" Was great. Also the episode where Larry picks up the hooker so he can ride the HOV lane to the Dodger game. She has a "snapper that talks to you."

Love that show. Love it.

Side note: Larry David is way left of the wackiest leftists you can find. Kind of scary, actually.

when the networks decide to do 3 new shows that are pretty much the same (mercy, trauma, three rivers), you know its going to be bad for 2 or all 3. Plus based out of SF, you know east coasters would not be interested.

I watched every episode of ER. The last few years were so bad, I think it took care of any interest I had in that type of shows.

The only CSI I watch is the original. Started to watch CSI NY, but it was too much of the same. I watched a few CSI miami, but caruso sucks.

and i have recently started to watch "Bones" i like that one

For some reason the shows that are a bit morbid end up being really good. I'm also a big fan of Dead Like Me from Showtime. Only lasted two seasons...but maybe that's all it needed. There's a direct to DVD movie that BLOOOOWS.
