Default Oscillating crystal replacemnet question

Working on a pcb and I am not getting any pulses with my logic probe on any of the ICs so I am thinking the oscillating crytal is packed it in. My question is the crystal on the pcb right now is 12.096mhz and I have a 12 mhz crystal, can I replace the 12.096 mhz with the 12 mhz? Will it make any difference since they are so close in frequency?

It won't make any appreciable difference in game play, you won't notice, but trolls on KLOV will call your repairs 'hacks' if you do

Your game will run 0.8% slower, so if you get a world record high score, it won't count.
