Early this morning, sharp eyed Jason Mazurek noticed an issue with my repro Quantum wiring harness. This is on the power/audio reg side, involving connector P40/J40. This is for the audio section. This is the connector that is to the right of the transformer below the audio reg board. See attached diagram. The female side is off on the two audio wires. No one noticed or mentioned this before (including me).
I am using the repro harness in my cabinet and all is working fine. I was confused and in a panic. I did continuity checking on the original and repro, including all wiring to all other connectors with wires leading to P40/J40 on both harness pieces (as the other side is the Quantum wiring harness). All other wiring involving these wires is correct and matches continuity wise, even with these two wires in the wrong position in the repro. I can't explain why the harness works other than audio is certainly not a complicated circuit, as long as there is continuity, even if it is reversed, it will work. My advice is to leave it as is. It's working fine as is, I've confirmed this on my machine and several others that I've personally seen in my area. I have continuity checked it and it appears to be fine. The fix would be to remove the two pins and put them in the proper location in the connector. Unless you have the right tools, you could make the matter a lot worse. Especially since the pins are the female side (male pins are usually a little easier to take out of a connector). I am not trying to hide anything, I am posting this within a few hours of being alerted to the issue and within an hour of confirming. I wasn't sure which forum to post and I got dinged for double posting a while back, so I decided here was the most appropriate. If mods feel it's more appropriate elsewhere, please move. If anyone has any questions or issues or wants to discuss further, please contact me directly. I apologize for the error. Thankfully, since it works without changes, there should be no impact (other than something to take note of should you be doing troubleshooting in the future).

I don't have a quantum, so I may be wrong... but looking at the schematic, it looks like with that harness, the LS1 speaker (behind the marquee) would not work. The other speaker (LS2) would (as it and the wires from the AR-II are tied together at J40).

Wanted to report that I connected by pcb without modifying this issue, and it powered up and played fine. I have not connected both speakers yet, so I'm not sure about the audio. However, it doesn't seem to effect gameplay, which is good. I'm going to finish getting the game built leaving the wiring as is, and then see about switching the two wires later after some testing.
Also, wanted to say that Joe has been very upfront and responsive once I found the issue and messaged him on it. I think it was around 12:30am when I messaged him, and we went back and forth a couple times. He could have just brushed this off, but he's been doing a great job in communicating everything and not trying to hide a potential (minor, imh) issue.

Easy enough fix as Joe mentioned with a pin extractor, a couple of replacement pins, and a few minutes time. Again, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. My 2 cents.
