Ok I finally got my super sound I/O with panning board, I redid the connector for the speakers and when I fired it up this is what I got

Any ideas where to go next.
Later today I am going to put the old board back in and see if I have the same thing. I did fire it up before the board swap and did not have the lines http://forums.lymphoma.com/forums.arcade-museum.com/images/ubbgraemlins/confused.gif

Video memory glitches?

Or particularly, are your interconnect cables in good shape and are the connectors squeaky clean? You had to have been inserting and removing them as part of your board swapping...

All but one of the interconnects are new. I will check and clean the 2 that attach to that board
Thanks

I would disconnect both ribbon cables to the SSIO PCB, and then power up the PCB set. The game will come up without that PCB connected. (It will be upside down, no sound, and no inputs) If the lines are still there, then it's not the SSIO PCB. If it does not have the lines, then reconnect ONE of the ribbon cables, at a time to the SSIO PCB. This way you will know what ribbon connector is making the the lines appear. You can then look at the schematics, and see what pins on the connector actually have data sent to the CPU PCB. Alot of the pins are not used on the connectors between the SSIO PCB and CPU PCB, so hopefully you can narrow it down by looking at the schematics. I had a SSIO PCB that was making garbage on a machine, and it turned out to be a 74LS138 Decoder IC on the SSIO.

Ok I disconnected the ribbon cables one at a time and still have the same problem.

Then I put the old board back into and same thing, just as the picture shows.

Good old pain in the butt finicky spy hunter
Any suggestions??? http://forums.lymphoma.com/forums.arcade-museum.com/images/ubbgraemlins/frown.gif

does any one think this could be a monitor issue that just "happened" when I was switching boards???

this is a long shot, but did you check all of your voltages coming the power supply? Is sounds like it's a problem with the CPU board. Did you reseat all socketed ICs on the CPU board? Also, have you reseated your video cable on both the CPU board and the monitor?

I hate to say it, but the SSIO could have f'ed up your CPU PCB. I had a faulty SSIO that damaged my main CPU stack. Keep that in mind, when you troubleshoot this. Hopefully it's not the case.

Well I have not got anywhere on this yet.
But I got out my "spare" spy hunter board that I go a couple of years ago and never checked it out. This is up came up, no lines though

So without the lines on the monitor I guess it must be on the board.
Now what to do with this board?? http://forums.lymphoma.com/forums.arcade-museum.com/images/ubbgraemlins/confused.gif

A BIG thanks to p1899m, he was right about the voltages being off. Thanks to everyone for the help also. It is nice to know that people are willing to help each other out! Some Day I will have to look at the white on the top and bottom, also the curl on the right side. http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee293/gjinc/DSC02766.jpg

My Spyhunter has that same white line on the bottom of the screen also. It has no line on the top. I have not looked into it yet.

The white lines are "normal".....kinda like the equivalent to the garbage on the side of a Tron monitor. As for your curl...that's a monitor adjustment.

Thanks
What kind of adjustment??

use the hor. width coil to increase the size of the pic until the white lines go off the edge of the screen. You may need to adjust the hor. pos. as well.
The curl is controlled by either the hor. freq or hor. hold (depends on the monitor). If the hor. hold or freq won't take it out, it'll need a cap kit.
