Game was working fine and the monitor quit working. The game plays blind. Checked the fuse, and it's good. I have voltage going into the monitor.

Did a little more digging and found some info that Ken wrote on RGVAC. I am going to check some of the caps that he listed that might go bad.

The monitor is a Tatung type 66 (VS14428).

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
theron

I replaced c117, c115, c19, and c924. The other caps I tested were fine.

Following a generic monitor flow chart...the fuse is good, and voltage is going into the monitor. Next step is to measure the B+ voltage. Where is this at?

Any other ideas?

Thanks again,
Theron

if this is like my xl gold, it has a vga monitor in it.
if so, plug in a computer monitor & see if you get a picture.

if you get a picture at that point, you know it is not the board.

I went to a computer recycling shop & picked up a small monitor & used it as a replacement.
works great.
